Ascend the free-floating spiral staircase to arrive at the second floor Starrett Suite. Originally George and Ann Starrett's bedroom, it retains the feel of high Victorian charm and tranquility. Relax in the elegant king sleigh-bed & enjoy the private bathroom with shower. Soak in the sumptuous hues of burgundy, gold, and cream while enjoying sunset, water, and mountain views from the seven large windows. A perfect space for those who prefer a little more privacy, as it shares no interior walls with other rooms.
Beautiful, just like the pictures, with a super comfy mattress and tons of hot water. This home feels like going back in time --no TVs or ugly alarm clocks to ruin the mood! A nice fire was going in the morning along with tea and coffee. There's an amazing bakery down the street, so we got some treats and brought them back upstairs for breakfast in bed. It was great!

Stayed here for just one night as a part of a weekender to Port Townsend, and was blown away. This house is beautiful and the history flows through every room. C was wonderful in communicating with us and we would go back in a heartbeat.

I absolutely recommend the Starrett Mansion if you love history and beautiful and bizarre architecture. Staying at the house felt like being privy to a part of the Victorian past I hadn’t really explored before. Our hostess was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the house and, at our request, our check in was an hour long tour of the architecture, the furniture and the stories behind the house. We even got a special look at the tower up the floating stairs! It was really magical. We stayed in the master bedroom and it was clean, and comfortable with a nook with a window that had a view of the water. The house is absolutely in walking distance to the town, and a bakery, grocery store and the Saturday Farmers Market, we didn’t have to drive the entire weekend. Plus there was nearly always an animal greeting us on the porch, be it the delightful little friendly Boston Terrier or one of three cats. We even saw three deer leisurely eating grass next door! It was a spectacular treat to be allowed to stay in such a piece of history and I’d go back in a heart beat.

We absolutely loved our stay. We were in the master bedroom; however, you can’t go wrong with the rooms as they all have wonderful Victorian details and grand views of the water. The hosts were friendly and near-instantly responded to questions via message. I would happily stay here again.

We rented out the entire house for our winter solstice wedding day and every detail was amazing. The communication and location were great. We were able to walk over to the courthouse to get married and then walk downtown for dinner afterwards. This house has so much character and our host was eager to discuss any and every detail of the house. There are just no words for how thoughtful our host was or how amazing this place is- you just have to see it for yourself! The fire was kept roaring the whole time we were there and each room had water views. There were musical instruments for those so inclined, and generally we felt welcomed to use all common areas as if the house were our own. 10/10!
